How to play Vdopa: The 333 Rooms
Vdopa: The 333 Rooms is a free puzzle game you play in your web browser. You explore a mysterious mansion of 333 rooms; each room holds 10 puzzles, 3,330 in total. Every puzzle has the same goal, find the hidden code and enter it correctly, but each one hides that code in a different way. This page walks you through every part of the game.
1. Create an account and log in
Open vdopa.com/play and press “Play now as a guest” to start at once (sign up later without losing progress), or sign up with your email, or continue with Google, LINE, Facebook or Apple. Email sign-up asks for a display name, your date of birth (you must be 13 or older) and acceptance of the terms of service, then sends a verification link to your inbox.
With an account, your progress, stars and statistics are saved on our server, so you can carry on from any phone or computer.
2. Home screen and the mansion map
After logging in you see the home screen with your progress: puzzles solved, rooms cleared, stars collected and the next puzzle to play. Press Continue to jump straight to where you left off.
To choose for yourself, open the Mansion Map. The mansion has 9 floors of 37 rooms, each floor with its own mood and colours. Unlocked rooms show their number and the stars you earned; locked rooms show a padlock. Tap a room to pick one of its 10 puzzles. Puzzles unlock one at a time, in order.
3. Reveal the hidden code with a mechanism
Each puzzle has a board in the middle of the screen. The code is hidden in that board and cannot be read until you work the mechanism. There are seven mechanisms:
| Mechanism | What to do |
|---|---|
| Glass alignment | Drag glass sheets until their lines join the lines on the wall |
| Rotating rings | Turn each ring until the letters line up |
| Sliding tiles | Slide pieces into the gap until the picture is whole |
| Symbol sequence | Watch the symbols light up, then tap them in the same order |
| Hidden objects | Find the eyes hidden among the clutter; each reveals one letter |
| Mirror | Flip mirrored sheets the right way round, then align them |
| Light and shadow | Drag the lamp until the shadow lies on the lines on the wall |
When a mechanism is solved, its letters glow gold and appear in the “found code” strip above the input boxes. The puzzle guide explains each mechanism in depth.
The very first puzzle is a tutorial with a dashed outline and a moving hint. From puzzle 2 onwards there are no instructions and no marks showing the correct position; you must read the letter strokes yourself. The first time a new mechanism appears, a short “New mechanism!” card explains it once.
4. Enter the code
The letter keypad sits at the bottom. Tap the letters from left to right in the order you found them. On a computer you can type on your keyboard and use Backspace. The code is checked when every box is filled.
- Right: confetti, stars, and the next puzzle opens.
- Wrong: the screen shakes and the boxes clear. Try again as often as you like.
Deeper in the mansion the keypad grows from 9 to 25 keys, and in later puzzles the letters are shuffled, so look carefully before you tap.
5. Multi-step puzzles
From room 84 (floor 3) onwards puzzles have several steps, up to four on the top floors, shown as “Step 1/3” at the top. Each step is a different mechanism that reveals part of the code. When you clear a step, its letters are kept in the found-code strip and the next mechanism appears. After the last step you have the full code to enter.
6. The magnifier
The yellow magnifier button in the top-right corner can be used once per puzzle. Depending on the puzzle it highlights the key spot of the current mechanism, such as where the glass belongs, or fills in the first letter of the code. Using it limits that puzzle to 1 star.
7. Stars
| Stars | How to earn them |
|---|---|
| ⭐ | Solve the puzzle |
| ⭐⭐ | Solve it without the magnifier |
| ⭐⭐⭐ | Solve it without the magnifier, faster than its target time |
There is no timer that makes you lose; the target time only decides the stars. Replay any solved puzzle to improve, and your best result is always kept.
8. Clearing rooms and memory fragments
After all 10 puzzles of a room you receive a memory fragment of the mansion and the next room unlocks. Press “Next room” to keep going, or return to the map. The house button on the result screen takes you back home.
Tips for new players
- Look for strokes that connect. On glass, rings or shadows, real letter strokes join into shapes while decoys float on their own.
- Save the magnifier until you have really tried, because it costs you 2–3 stars, but do not suffer for too long.
- Rest your eyes. Many puzzles become much easier with a fresh look.
- Read the puzzle guide. Each page explains how to think about a mechanism and the common mistakes.
