Hidden objects

Hidden objects is a puzzle for sharp eyes. The board is scattered with shapes, circles, triangles, squares, crosses and crescents, and hidden among them are a number of eyes. Each eye holds one letter of the code; find them all and the code is complete.

How to play

  1. Look for eyes: oval shapes with a pupil (a round dot) in the centre.
  2. Tap an eye. It turns gold and its letter floats above it.
  3. The counter in the top-right corner shows how many you have found, for example 1/3.
  4. Find them all to clear the step.

Tapping the wrong spot costs nothing, so feel free to try. The number of eyes always equals the number of letters in that step’s code.

How it gets harder

What changes Early game Late game
Decoys on the board about 6 about 30
Eye size large (about 34 px) smaller (about 22 px)
Decoy eyes rare very common

Decoy eyes are ovals without a pupil. At a glance they look just like real eyes, and they become more frequent deeper in the mansion.

Even when eyes are drawn smaller, the tappable area is always at least 48 pixels, so they remain easy to hit on a phone.

Techniques

Scan in zones. Split the board into four to six areas in your mind and sweep them one by one from top-left to bottom-right, so nothing is skipped.

Look for a dot inside an oval. Do not search for the whole eye shape; search for what real eyes have and decoys lack: a round dot exactly in the middle of the oval.

Beware of solid dots. Some decoys are solid dots with no oval around them. A dot on its own is not an eye.

Use the counter. If it says 2/3 and you are stuck, sweep the edges and the four corners. Eyes often hide next to dense clusters of decoys.

Do not worry about order. Once all eyes are found, their letters are placed in the found-code strip in the right order automatically.

Common mistakes

  • Tapping the same decoy again and again. If nothing happens, it is a decoy; move on.
  • Reading the code from eye positions. Their place on the board says nothing about letter order; always read the found-code strip.

What the magnifier does

The magnifier circles one eye you have not found yet in flashing gold for three seconds.
