Mirror

The mirror mechanism builds on glass alignment. You still drag glass sheets until their strokes join the wall, but some sheets are mirrored left-to-right, as if seen in a mirror. A mirrored sheet will not snap into place until you flip it back.

How to play

  1. Tap a sheet to select it. The selected sheet has a pink edge.
  2. Press the mirror button (the round pink button with two inward arrows, bottom-right of the board) to flip the selected sheet.
  3. Drag the sheet to where its strokes join the wall.
  4. A sheet that is both the right way round and in the right place snaps in with a gold edge. When all are in, the code lights up.

If you drag a still-mirrored sheet onto the right spot it will not snap, but flipping it while it sits there makes it snap at once.

How it gets harder

What changes When first met Late game
Sheets 1 up to 3
Mirrored sheets always at least 1 several at once more often
Snap distance and decoys same as glass alignment at that point of the game

Techniques

Look for letters facing the wrong way. The quickest tell is an asymmetric stroke: the arms of F, J, K and L, or the diagonals of N and Z. If a shape looks like a letter seen in a mirror, that sheet is flipped.

Flip first, drag second. Flipping right away shows you the true shapes, and finding the position becomes ordinary glass alignment.

Flip when in doubt. Flipping is free. If a sheet sits where the strokes almost join but refuses to snap, try flipping it.

Check which sheet is selected. The mirror button flips only the selected sheet (pink edge). With overlapping sheets, tap the one you mean before flipping.

Use placed sheets as anchors. As in glass alignment, all sheets share one position, so the first sheet that snaps tells you where the rest go.

Common mistakes

  • Flipping a sheet that was already correct, which mirrors it instead. Read the letter shapes before pressing.
  • Flipping before selecting. The most recently selected sheet is the one that flips.

What the magnifier does

The magnifier shows a gold outline of the target position and, if a mirrored sheet is left, selects it and makes the mirror button pulse so you know it needs flipping.
